Craniosacral Therapy
Bringing balance to your nervous system
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light, intentional touch that assesses any disruption in the flow of craniosacral fluid housed in your brain and spinal cord. We are taught how to feel for the craniosacral rhythm throughout the body and assess the places of restriction, tightness or lack of movement. Bringing alignment, balance and movement to the nervous system are the goals. This way the body can begin to heal without restrictions.
CST has shown clinically to have profoundly positive effects upon the brain and spinal cord function and CST has been used to treat all kinds of injuries like headaches, joint pain, concussion, low back and neck pain, neurodevelopment issues, ADD, ADHD and other learning difficulties.
The light touch mobilization techniques require a high degree of palpatory specificity and sensitivity and as a result, CST effectively treats strain patterns in the connective tissue network within the body, brain and spinal cord. The releases enhance function and ease symptoms.
Guided by the client’s body, the practitioner facilitates the biomechanics and energetic corrections necessary to improve function on all levels.
The body holds patterns of stories unique to itself and with CST the memories and energy in the tissues can be addressed. Combined with the viewpoint that the practitioner is the facilitator to a process that is really dictated by the client’s inner knowing, sets the stage for change using approaches like Somatoemotional Release.
